Appraisal of new Raya (Brassica Juncea L.) Genotypes for Their Suitability in Arid Climatic Conditions

The abrupt and extreme climatic conditions have paved ways for a shift in crop adaptability their agro-ecological zones. To combat the uncertainty yield, it is prerequisite to test newly developed genotypes specific conditions. Hence two-year experiment was planned evaluate phenotypic performance genetic potential of grain yield six locally produced Raya (Brassica juncea L.). conducted at research farm Regional Agricultural Research Institute, Bahawalpur, Pakistan during 2018-19 2019-20. study laid out Randomized complete block design replicated four times. observations were recorded determining components final results showed that variety Bwp-Raya maximum (kg ha-1) as 4856.5 kg/ha due highest number silique per branch 169.25, grains 18.500 1000 weight 4.015g. While among strains Brj-9070 as4278 168.50, 18.250 weight. This evaluation crucial order determine best performing arid conditions, so farmers can select suitable according prevailing areas.
